The festive season proved to be full of fun for the residents and staff of Evermore. Over the Christmas and New Year period, I had the great pleasure of experiencing the wonderful growth of the Evermore family as the residents made the most of each other and then you lifestyles in Evermore. Making new friends and leaving the home they shared with their family can be an overwhelming experience both physically and emotionally, and it is great to see everyone fitting in so well together.
It has been extremely gratifying watching residents settle into new routines. The fun and laughter can be heard down the hallways and it is especially lovely to see new friendships developing and hearing of the improvement in some of our resident's health.
Our residents have participated in many functions over the last month; races at the Forster Tuncurry Race Course, Indoor Bowls at the Bowling club (a first for many) and many more Evermore activities. There have been introductions to visiting health professionals and orientation to our community. The movies are proving popular and as the weather warms up we are encouraging the use of the beautiful barbeque area and pool.
We have welcomed 23 residents and three lovely puppies to Evermore and it is wonderful to see families and friends visit regularly and they too enjoy the ambiance of the village and the wonderful meals and events in the restaurant.
It has been a great opportunity for business and community groups to be involved in Evermore with Chamber of Commerce holding their November business breakfast at Evermore and over 50 representatives from throughout the region attending. Real estate agents and medical professionals have enjoyed the hospitality of Evermore and we invite more to visit in the New Year.
I wish all our friends, family and prospective residents a Healthy and Happy 2016.
